A Closer Look at Shaving Soap

Literally - a closer look.

As part of my vintage vs. new Williams experiment, I made some slides and took a look at the soap under a microscope.

The white spots in the picture are bubbles - the areas that look a little like lather on some of the bubbles are where the bubble is pressed against the slide.

At this point, I speculate that lots of little bubbles make for a better lather. I need to try out a few more soaps and get some more pictures to be sure.
