    Default college toiletries storage box

My son's heading off to college this fall and wanted something to store his toiletries in. He was looking for something with an antique look. I made this out of oak scraps from a church pew factory with some left over guitar pick guard material for the areas i thought would need some water resistance. Fumed the oak with ammonia and finished it with Tung oil.

Basically you put the wood(oak) in a closed container (tent) with a couple of dish with ammonia, usually 24hrs, the wood react to the ammonia fumes by getting darker and richer, very popular with Arts& Craft/Mission furniture.
