Picture frame display case
Hi there, just finished making my new picture frame display case and wanted to share. Obviously the glass and surrounding frame are from an old picture frame I picked up from a charity shop and I boxed the back in using some old oak cladding that came from a renovation job. The inside is lined with green felt material and it's finished off with some brass ornate hinges and handle. It was great fun making! And very easy to do with basic tools as you can imagine. I took it along with razors included to an old manor house in burnley near where I live where the 'antiques roadshow' was being filmed and I managed to see an expert who couldn't really tell me any more than I already knew about them. Never the less I spent half an hour in make up and they decided they were very interesting and filmed me for the show. It is supposed to be being broadcast end of summer/ beginning of autumn over here in England. I'm really pleased because I haven't seen any straights on the antiques roadshow before in England ind I think I did a good job of promoting straight razor shaving on camera. All in all a good day. Anyhoo, here's a few pics!!! Sorry for the long winded story but somebody might find it interesting!!!

Nice job. The case looks great! Can you tell me what you are using the make/keep the razors standing up? I can't quite tell from the pics.

Haha, il post a link as soon as it airs. I'm using very small panel fins I've lacquered once I nailed them in place. I positioned them so one sits under the tang behind the heel and the other one sits the other side of the scales above the tail. Seems to work a treat. And I've thrown half dozen silca gel bags in for good measure.
