Default Got a mug, looking for info

Hey there all! I got this great little mug for Christmas and was wondering if anyone had any info on it? My brother in law was told it was from the 30s, and I'm inclined to agree. While the workmanship is quite good, the materials are quite cheap, it looks like a stamped and rolled plated tin, or brass? The glass inside has a slight green tint, with a small visible green swirl on the bottom. it was definitely molded, not hand spun, so that also makes me think newish in time rather than super antique.
    Any thoughts?
Also is this type of mug used to also hold soap, or is it a lather builder instead? I'm a bit unsure how you would use it, or if the tin holder is just decorative, and you would hold the glass directly to use it.
    Thanks gents!

I think it might be earlier than the 30's. Late teens, early 20's. Has that feel to it. If you use it to build lather I would suggest that you NOT hold it by its handle but cup it in your hand. Those are welded/soldered joints and I never did trust those on old items like that. And it is a handsome cup to say the least. Lucky man.

I was thinking after I posted that maybe the tin is sort of a heat-shield idea, where you pre-heat the glass to keep the brush and soap warm, but then have something cool to hold? I'm not sure yet if it will go in the curio-cabinet, or not, but that handle isn't much to hold either way.
