    Probably right. I never bowl lather so that aspect is generally skipped or ignored.

    I don't either now but tried it when I started with straight razors but found it a waste of time so went back to face lathering.

    I enjoy shopping my local thrift and antique stores. Always some classic, cheap, (nostalgic mugs for sale). I prefer a shallow mug with a wide rim.

    @Alex7, the OP

    Hey Alex
    We should make a point here about puck soap and bowl lathering. The lathering process should (must) be done in a mug, cup, scuttle, etc that does NOT contain the puck. While a lather made in the puck cup may appear ok you will learn it is water deprived and will dry out quite quickly, IME.

    For me, and me alone, if the lather on my face appears pebbly then I do not have enough water in the lather and the soap will dry on one side while I shave the other side.
