Thanked: 2Let's design a leather case.
So I'm in the leather wallets business, and now that I'm into straight razors it seemed natural to make razor cases. What would you like to see? What would you not like to see? So far I decided not to use a snap closure do to the chance the inside of the snap could scratch the the scales. So I was thinking a simple strap through a loop closure. Would it matter to you if it opened from the side or the top? I condition my wallets with Mink oil (Mink oil is a euphenism for pig fat and silicone usually); Any objection to silicone, vitamin E, lanolin, animal fat? What about dyes? Would you want a small compartment for something? Throw me some ideas!

DO a Google search for "Leather Straight Razor Cases"
Click on "images" at the top when it shows.
There are as many types and styles as there are leather workers. Hard to do something new.
Quality of your craftsmanship can make a really big difference. No one here will accept a freebee to shill a product so make use and enjoy your journey.
Some of the accessories are a good hing to have along with the cases.
Above all, look at the journey as enjoyment and relaxation!

Disclosure: I do have two separate friends that are professional and prizewinning leather workers and teachers.Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Thanked: 118I am partial to the roll style similar to what pixelfixed posted with a leather or fabric flap to keep them from getting scratched by rubbing together.
May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

Thanked: 4826If you are looking for a challenge in leather work I have seen a seven day case in leather which has the seven razors slide into the end of a case, as opposed to a box. They are all separated and the top folds over. I looked for an image but came up empty. I would expect that should require a lot of layout and design for the first one. It should exercise all of your skills.

I have seen some "hard" cases for fountain pens that have caught my interest, may want to look at some of those.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.
