    Default Straight Razor Designs Scuttle

    Gentlemen,

Modern scuttles come in generally two types: for making lather or for keeping the brush warm. Through the years, I have tried scores of scuttles, including Schwarzweisskeramik, Dirty Bird, Georgetown, Straight Razor Designs (SRD), Moss and Becker, among others. I have liked or disliked some things about each. All have been quality, however, and I am glad to have tried them.

Since I no longer bowl lather, my scuttle of choice is one to keep my brush warm. The model I have come to really like is the SRD scuttle, which is strictly for keeping your brush warm. The handmade workmanship and the size are impressive. What I especially like about it is that the hot water tank reaches almost to the top, thus surrounding the deep bowl. For a scuttle, this is an excellent feature, in addition to having thick walls.

    Good stuff.
