I know this from experience. By all means, keep an eye on them.

In this display case, there are 3 cupped sink-strainers with filters in them on the bottom perimeter.
A computer fan under the brush blows out the bottom. Constant air exchange. Better safe than sorry. YMMV

    Thanks!
And, btw, wow - that is a serious display case...

I'll keep the airflow/moisture concerns in my mind. I'll be putting in some gel packs and drilling some holes shouldn't be an issue.
I also have as a 'rule' that no razor will go in there before having had a through, professional clean and restore - that might help a bit as well.
Anything I buy on the bay is in "quarantine" until I get them looked at

Thanks for the useful post and the picture Darkbulb. I've been trying to remember the type of case someone mentioned some time ago that worked for straight razors. I believe it was also pen display cases. There wasn't a picture though.

How would a pen display case work for 8/8" choppers or similar razors?

Eventually I would like to build something like this for my razors. It wouldn't be as nice, but I could make the slots different widths to fit specific razors.

I've heard of 7 day sets for straight razors. Are you working on a YEAR set for safety razors, or just several month sets??

I've had a "year of playing/exploring" safety razors and it's been a blast. As the year ends...so does this 'discovery/exploration' and I will be selling off the vast majority of my safety razors. The "plan" is to only keep 12 of them so I guess I'll be rather busy as that means I'll be selling and packing/shipping about 90 of them. I've been fortunate enough to be able to have accumulated some rather rare ones - and some common ones - so it will be fun to see them going to someone else to enjoy.
I've kept track of how much I've spent for every single razor and the goal is to at least break even

I would feel good about having one of those silica packs in it, like they make for gun safes. They change color when they need recharging, which is done easily by heating in oven for a couple of hours.
