Default My New Custom Shaving Scuttle

My old friend Merrie has gotten into pottery and is making me a shaving scuttle. It is a new adventure for her, as is straight razor shaving for me. She sent me these three pictures today of the beginning of the process. I'll add more as I get them.

Is it over there or over yonder?

AlienEdge, I am sure she could but this is just a hobby of hers and I have the impression she is not really interested in making a business of it. She says it is pretty time consuming. After she does mine, which she says will take several weeks, I can ask if she'd want to make more.

Totally understand ! There is a place some where I can't remember the name of the place on the internet. I'm sure it is one of these straight razor places. They have something called a :Santa Fe" looks like a big soap puck would fit into. I have a couple of mugs I guess they are called one of them is made by "Burt's Bee" and a big puck will go about half way down into it. I remember searching for a big one long time ago and they were hard to find. I don't really know about now.

Got an update photo today. Glazing the scuttle - I sent her a sample of my Corian countertop material and she is coloring the scuttle to compliment the color/pattern. Very cool, I think. Note the fancy little spout cap sitting on the table.

Its cool to see the transformation with the in process photographs.
There's something to be said about having and using an item that came from a friend, relative etc. The personal aspect makes it special.
Cant wait to see the final outcome.
    Thanks.

Well, it has taken a while for the scuttle to get to my hands. We were waiting for the chance to do the exchange in person. Here it is in all its glory. I love it. It is the perfect size and keeps my lather nice and warm. It even has my name etched into the bottom. Note the handlebar mustache cap on the water reservoir.
