Thanked: 72Totally shocked there isn't an "electric scuttle" out there
I love my scuttle, but sometimes the fill, heat, empty, fill, empty thing is a bit much. I wouldn't trade mine, but I'm kinda surprised no one sells an electric
scuttle. It's basically hot pot technology that would just need some customization.
This dude was wondering the same thing...

My wife got one of these mini crock pots for Christmas and it immediately entered my mind to use it as an electric scuttle, but I haven't tried it yet

Before I crossed over to the way of the cold/cool/tap water temp shave...I was using one of those cup warmers with my "scuttle" (a Latte mug from the cast off bin @ WallyWorld)
Without a washcloth draped over it there was a tendency to dry out.Support Movember!

Thanked: 351It might be a bit of overkill, but how about an electric Samovar?
Plenty of hot water and you could replace the tea pot with your shaving scuttle!
Here's a link to an electric samovar on Amazon... just the ticket if you ask me!

Have a look at these:

An electric scuttle is a great idea!
Nice hot lather for the entire shave would be awesome.
If you ever find one, post a link and sign me up for sure!
Any inventors out there??

Thanked: 0This has horrible reviews as a coffee mug, mostly due to it be way too small for a drink and doesn't heat well not plugged in.....which seems more like bonuses for the use you are looking for. But it does stir and heat for $14......might be worth a try.

An electric egg boiler comes to mind. This one comes with a metal tray.

Ah, this is were this thread is. I took some pics of my setup when I saw your question and then I could not find it, found the scuttle mugs thread instead.
I was going to make a post of this in the next week, and I still will after I make a video demonstrating the setup. But I saw your question and it looks like it cannot wait.
They do.
How to shave prep like a gentleman of science:
I use one of my PID controlled magnetic heat plates, with a scuttle or glassware as double boiler, set the temp, toss a dollop of cream in the bowl with a splash of water on the teflon stir bar. Set the temp and take a shower- come out and the cream is at the exact temperature I desire.
It makes my lather, perfect too I might add as you can see in pic 3, pic 2 is the vortex of the stir bar whipping the shave cream, all done at a constant set temp. In the pic it is 61C
