Attention mustache wax users. I seek info.
Just recieved firehouse dark wax. I have tried pinauds which is horrible so my use and knowledge is limited. Basically whats the best way to use this stuff? I have played with it upon arrival, took and scraped some out and worked it in. Is this right? Any help is appreciated thank you in advance.

Thanked: 1081I use the wifes hair dryer to heat the wax up for easier application, i then use a comb and my fingers to style.
I've never used firehouse though.

keep it in your pocket, it will stay a little warmer. The key is to put it on warm and let it cool.

I haven't used it in decades, as I keep my mustache well trimmed, but years ago, when I sported a Wyatt Earp style handlebar, I used Pinuad. The trick, as others have mentioned, is to put it on warm, and use a comb to get out the excess. Pinuad used to sell a miniature mustache comb. Probably better stuff out there now, but at the time, AFAIK, that was the only game in town.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I pour a little hot water from the tap on my wax and let it sit for about 20 seconds.. then just pour it off, pat dry quick and voila', soft wax.

Well gents I have learned the pocket heat is the best for me and I also applying the wax then give it a few minutes and reapply a bit more to get things to stay where I want them. Thank you all for the suggestions I appreciate it as always.
