Storage Roll Made of Fabric
I have a friend that sews and is doing book covers for a fundraiser.
I inquired about a Razor roll for my straights and may have her make me one.
What would be some considerations and what should I give her for measurements?
I have nothing bigger than 6/8ths and I am thinking 10 razors.
I currently have six razors but don't plan to go bigger than 6/8 for a while."When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound,

My only input would be to make sure it has a fold over flap and a secure tie string. You don't want them to slide out.
There have been several pics of leather and cloth rollups. If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Got one that came from an old barber. It is velvet, and has some reinforcing of another material, looks like elastic, but it is not, at the top of the separate slots, and the top of the flap. Snaps on either side, whoever made it should have put one in the center, but didn't.
Came with six 5/8 Genco Fluid Steel. I guess the guy liked that brand and model. Sorry for the poor pix, but the light ain't that great this time of day.

Maybe a material that does not allow the blade's oil to seep through & leave a stain that shows.

Since I got that set the first time they've been back in that roll was tonight to take the photos. The velvet is cool in look and feel, but it doesn't have any real protection for the razors beyond holding them securely.
Personally I don't oil my razors. I may give them a wipe with a silicone gun cloth treated with R.I.G. once in awhile, but there is no residual oil that would stain anything with that treatment, and it does protect them from corrosion.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 4826I have a few. My favorite one was made by a member here s/n greatbolo. It has a few features that I really like. It has a wild patterned furniture grade fabric outer, a soft heavy weight flannel inner, a long flap that will never accidentally slip open, nice wide pockets, the pockets are deep enough to be secure and shallow enough to make it very easy to get the razors out.

I have two leather roll ups from Classic Shaving and they're great. My only suggestion is to make them with 7 slots. One roll up equals one week.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.
