Thanked: 38Mirror mag
Greetings. I Regularly shave in the master bedroom bathroom for the reason of having more room and not needing to clean it all the time whenever company comes over. I shave, look in the mirror, everything looks good. However, when I look at my face in the guest bathroom mirror, holycrap...look at all the missed stubble! I tried searching for "vanity mirror magnification" and all I got was those little circular mirrors. Does anyone know if a regular vanity mirror comes with a 1.5x or 2 magnification? I tried a regular bathroom mirror search and could not find anything listing magnification on the products. I am positive, by comparing at the same distance from the mirror and having the same lighting, that the vanity mirror in the guest bathroom has a subtle magnification bump. I am getting ready to build a house and I want to make sure my "den" is appropriately outfitted with a mirror with slight magnification.

For a mirror to magnify, it must be concave and circular. Otherwise, a curved mirror (or funhouse mirror) will only make you look fat, thin, tall or short.

Thanked: 3215There are, I use my brides lighted magnified makeup mirror all the time, after shaving in the bath mirror. There are usually a couple missed hairs near the nose.
I think one side is 10X, the other 1x, lighted is the key word here.
Search magnified makeup mirrors. A shaving mirror with a wall mounted extending scissor arm might be a way to go, Ikea sells an inexpensive one.

It could be that the quality of the glass on the second mirror has better transparency and finish on both sides so the silvering on the back is close to perfect.
Could make a big difference!

Perhaps your facial hair grows really really quickly and by the time you walk over ot the guest bathroom the stubble has grown out?

Thanked: 634I used to have a two sided mirror mounted on wall. One side magnified. It was on a scissor mechanism that extended and the mirror swivel. Lighting is also important.
