That's a keeper! Nice find. But you need a new knot in that brush to do it proud.
Or a peroxide soak to freshen up the boar if you like the knot as is...
    Either way, congrats.

    Thanks Mike,
She gave me the brush for free. Yes it needs a new knot I was thinking a new silvertip but if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. Also any place to aquire them would be very helpfull. The only one I have found are the Happy something(can't remember right now but have them bookmarked) on Ebay.

    Thanks again,
    Israel

That is a nice scuttle. It actually has room to get the brush into the hot water. Nice catch. Brushes were smaller when most antique scuttles were made. Enjoy your find!

The golden nib is a US based seller of knots. Virginia Sheng on eBay as well as shavemac out of Germany. If you don't want to risk it, I'd suggest remove the old knot and clean up the brush cavity very well before you order so you do not get a knot that won't fit the handle by guessing at your ideal knot diameter.
    Good luck.
I'd recommended mend the silvertip personally. Can't go wrong with a good badger.

Good all out and get a Shavemac boar. I hear they are the bees knees. And BTW, i agree. I look and find flowery things too and its just not my style. But i bet the wife would let me display a flowery one in the bathroom. Nope, aint gonna do it. Congrads on the good find.
