    Default Smartphone microscope

    Hi guys,
I'm looking for a good microscope I can attach to my iPhone SE to see and take pictures to examine the edge on my razor. Does anyone know any quality makes to go for?

    Thanks guys

I have been using a 60x that does the job for me. I found it on the 'bay under magnifiers. A bit clumsy but it is the same magnifier as the other 60x's that I like.

    on eBay, select:
    60x magnifier
    or for the clip on:
60X Mini Jewelry Magnifier Clip Microscope Loupe LED Light Magnifying Glass New

There are now other styles that may match what you use for checking bevels.

With digital microscopes, part of the magnification is achieved through the size of the screen used to view the
image. Thus, unless portability is a must, it is better to have a microscope that attaches to a tablet, laptop computer, or desktop computer rather than a cell phone.

I have a Celestron 5MP USB microscope attached to a computer that I can view on a 27" full HD monitor. It is great for examining bevels.

I have actually been considering likewise options. I have one of the 60x jeweler's loupe with a clip so I can use it with my phone camera. It works, but can be tricky to get a picture to come out how you want.

I would like something that didn't rely on my hands as a mount/tripod. So I have been perusing Amazon again for options.

The following is definitely intriguing, but I don't have enough information to consider it an informed purchase.

It is worth noting that this particular one does NOT support iPhones. But what really caught my attention was the dual purpose plug on the end of the USB cable.

That does look interesting! It is said to have 10X to 200X magnification. That should cover the ranges we find best for viewing our honing. The internal lights could be a help or a hindrance. May be that the light source pointed from the lens will show up scratch patterns better than not.
I don't know whether it is good or not but I have spent a lot more money for a lot less of a product.
Thanks for the pointers to the site!"
