My Grandfather's Chest
So my grandfather was a barber in a small village in Thrace, Greece. He has unfortunately passed away so I wasn't able to learn any secrets of the trade. But I was able to find his old barbering equipment, just to give you an idea of the dates my grandfather started working 70 years ago.

Very nice! Few are lucky enough to have that much from fathers or grand fathers.

I don't know if your grandfather passed recently or not but all the same my condolences.
Having heirlooms of any kind are so special, however having heirlooms that you can use and not just have on display are Wonderful!
That Coticule cleaned up nicely, I would lap it flat again and then put it to use. The same with the wooden box--with the exception of lapping it.
The brush that was used to dust powder can also be put back in service and you never know when you might need those hand clippersOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Thank you guys!!
Wait a sec, you just implied that the box should not be lapped. I have to cancel my DMT order then
In the box I also found a paddle strop and a razor but they are beyond saving. My other grandpa was also from a barber family in Smyrna (Izmir). They were forced to leave their house and barbershop after being chased by the turkish authorities during the event of the Great Fire of Smyrna. So coming to Greece they brought their trade tools and now I am the proud owner of this historic piece.
