    Default Miscellaneous shaving gear?

We call this forum the Miscellaneous Shaving gear Forum but stop and think about it. Is there any piece of shave gear that is Miscellaneous? To me that means some extraneous unnecessary item almost an afterthought. However, is there truly any piece of gear like that. Doesn't everything we use play a vital role in the shave process.

I guess maybe we can define it as something we can do without. The problem is what I can do without maybe you can't.

So what do you think about this? Maybe we should change the name of the forum to the Unnecessary Shaving Gear Forum.

I would say that a razor, soap, strop and brush are all that's needed. Therefore any thing else is miscellaneous shaving gear, ie. bowl, toiletries bag, pre-shave oil, after shave etc. Any thing unnecessary would include, bees wax, cue tips, 16d nails, super glue, staple gun, canoe paddle etc.

Thank goodness super glue has been unnecessary for me lately while shaving but I do store my strops from a 16d nail.
