Thanked: 15Anyone in Toronto have $1500?
I saw this at the local antique store. Unfortunately they'd been cleaned out of razors and only had a few that were either chipped beyond repairability or too expensive for their condition...but here's something, they were kind enough to at least let me photograph. The back of the mirror has beautifully etched calligraphy of initials - likely from the original owner(?). According to the antique store, around 1880-1890ish. Only $1500! I want it so bad! :

Thanked: 4826It is a pretty nice piece. I would have no where sensible to keep it. Some of those things are best admired from afar unless you have a really great dedicated space.

Thanks for the pic, that's a beauty!
I'd have to make space, though this piece is such that I would not have too much trouble displacing SWMBO items in the bedroom.. I think. Maybe. Errr probably not.
But I'd try!“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Thanked: 15It can genuinely be displayed as a showpiece...though I'm not sure where, usually I've seen pieces like this are small enough to be inside a display case. Actually, I remember seeing on here, smthg that looked like a "bar cart" but a basin...maybe smthg like that in the corner in the bedroom with this at the center! You'd have to remodel a basin cart to be able to fit this though, ones i've seen don't have enough space behind the basin for this.

That's an excellent idea for the modified bar cart.
A mobile shave station in style!
Gonna have to put some all-terrain tires on it to wheel it out into the garden early Sunday shave..
An insulated (thermos?) Hot water container, sink and all the other items.. And a little sound-system hidden within..
Nice!
