Virtually any bowl with the right dimensions will do for lathering in regardless of what they are called.

They work very well being textured inside. There is one in this months giveaways. I like them for traveling.

A collapsible dog dish might be better for travel use being non breakable and more compact.

My salsa bowl, used to hold parts when I pin, is smooth as silk on the inside.

Beware the salsa bowl that promises great lather for he is but a smoothie.

Thanks but i already have 2 of the silicone bowls. 1 is a pet bowl and the other is one of the large measuring cups that's silicone and collapsible and has a handle for a great grip...

Bought a $1.47 salsa bowl at Walmart. Took coarse grit sandpaper to the inside. Roughed it up and now it lathers like crazy.
