Thanked: 15Presenting "Blades of the Revolution: a 7 day story"
Finally finished my 7 day set. well, more or less. The 7th blade still needs to be cleaned and rescaled, but i'm counting this as a win!
And here's the 7th blade. The small size means it will fit in the small gap in the middle!
lastly, the family/group shot. (Note: all except#3 and #4 are shave worthy. Hope to make them shave worthy at some point too).
From top to bottom:
1. Crown Wolf [John Shepherd?]: 1780-1790s
2. *P [Fox&Norris/Sam Norris]: 1787-1800
3. "Norris" [Sam Norris]: 1770-1790s
4. (IN) PARI(S) [Joseph Justice, Church Lane(?)]: 1760-1780s(?)
5. ⚜️RAY [Richard Ash]: 1775 - 1785
6. Z/N(?) Pipe [Unknown?]: 1750-1770s(?)
7. S. Norris [Sam Norris]: 1790s
FYI: would LOVE some help in confirming and/or filling the blanks where there are "?", those are my best guesses leaning on a bit of wishful thinking.Last edited by Tjh; 03-11-2020 at 07:35 PM.

Newb question: Where do you go to find such old, historic blades? I would love to find one some day. Thanks.

Thanked: 15way too much searching, good amounts of luck and way more $$s than I'd care to admit. It's really tricky with these as they're not only RARE, but the ones that ARE out there are often either too far gone to save, or need a tremendous amount of work by a very skilled hand to bring it back to usable shape. (Note: apart from the two that haven't yet been restored, the norris and the unknown one, the rest are shave worthy).

Awesome! That would be cool even if they weren't all shave ready.

Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to salvage them, at first. A real joy separating them, and keeping it all together.

I do enjoy shaving with the oldies. I dont have 7 but a.couple. i find the most important thing to remember is thumb placement. The slightest slip of the thumb and your on the edge.
It's just Sharpening, right?
