Thanked: 1587Magnetic Soap Holders
I've just stumbled across these magnetic soap holders from Professor Fuzzyworthy. I was wondering if anyone has much experience with these or any other brand/type? They apparently save your soap a bit in the shower and they are much cleaner than the traditional soap holder.
Looks like something you could quite easily make for yourself too, maybe.

Those have to be some really powerful magnets to go through a soap bar. Better watch out if you have medical implants-har har.

Thanked: 1587haha! Or, maybe you need to buy special magnetic soap? These are probably not the greatest idea for shaving soaps, given their general size etc. But the new trend for shampoo and conditioner soaps might work well with these. I've grabbed 3 (one each for shampoo and conditioner soaps, and one for general cleaning your body type soap) so I'll be able to report back in a few weeks. Just thought others might have used something like them before?

I remember my Grandparents having something like that (no, it's not new). Their holder was made of metal. The magnet is kind of shaped like a bottle cap which is pressed into the bar. It only holds it magnet to magnet so you don't need to have that powerful of a magnet to hold it all the way through the bar of soap.

Thanked: 556Assuming there is some sort of sharp end on the piece that goes into the soap, you’d have to be very much aware of the amount of soap left on the bar when washing your nasty bits.

Thanked: 56I have this and it is brilliant. Just sits in the soap well so there is no water collecting that could hit the soap. Didn't have the cool gadget factor, but doesn't have a bottle cap you have to shove in either.

Thanked: 1587That's looks like a smart idea actually. Problem is that after our bathroom renovation last year we opted for no soap holder in the shower at all - you know, went all modern and minimalist and clean.
On that note, no doubt you are all aware that aethetic decisions on bathroom renovations are the sole domain of our better halves - I think I am going to have to do some fast-talking to convince her to let me stick 3 magnetic soap holders in her minimalist, clean, and white shower....

Thanked: 1587lol! I'm afraid a shower caddie doesn't fit with the styling choices of the bathroom. I should add we do have one of those shower recesses for stuff like shampoos, etc. But when you put soap in that it just creates a messy sludge.

I admit I am not up to date on styling choices.
Sounds to me like you need to use a body wash in a bottle not a soap..............
