Just got my large schwarzweisskeramik from MB's today. Unbelievable! As many of you have said before, you can not appreciate the size until you actually get your hands on it.

I vote for the Schwarz! I have had one for about 4 months now, and the lather is as warm at the end of my shave, as it is in the beginning! Go for the Schwarz!

Thanked: 4942I like the Moss type or Dirty Bird the best. They both have large enough bowls to accommodate big brushes. To me the Schwartz has too big a bowl. In either case a little (about 1/8 inch) bit of water in the bottom of the top bowl will help whichever one you choose keep the lather in your brush warmer throughout the shave.

Thanked: 11Now come on, Lynn. My scuttles come in different sizes, and the one you have (if I remember right) is the biggest version, explicitly designed for big brushes. If of course the LK-scuttle bowl is too big even for big brushes I will consider making it smaller.

I have Oskar's biggest in the 3 striped color setup. For me it's great and I like it. Don't have a dirty bird, but from what I've found out, it's on-par with Oskar's offerings. For EU people, the Schwarzweisses are probably the best, economically, in the US the Dirty Birds. Maybe I'll pick up a dirty bird in some time too.
With the scuttle I have started to move to face lathering a fair bit more. The warmth dries out lather too quickly for my tempo (slow ) and man, it's so much better with a nice hot big brush on the face. I do the same as Lynn, just pop a bit of water in the top bowl during the shaving, to keep it moist and the brush warmer.
