WOW! That is beautiful.
I'm marking my calendar.

Thanked: 20Leather cases
I could not find the cases you are looking for, so I ended up making heavy lined leather pouches. I have dropped these cases or pouches on tile floors with no damage to the razor. Mine have a flap over the top so the razor can not drop from the case. I found an example at shavingshop.com both with and witout the flaps. The leather pouch is no substitute for the wood cases, but that is all I had to work with. I made them with exotic leather such as ostrich, lizzard, stingrays, snakes and any other exotic skin available to me. They do serve their purpose. Juan

I have some Mako shark skin I got from a restaurant for the purpose of making a grip on a sword of mine. That stuff is hard to work with. If left untreated, and natural/raw skin, I think the texture wold make short work a straight razor, and quickly ruin one while stropping. But treated skin sounds like a great strop material to me too Rob.
btw, How've you been Pal?

Hey Johnny, not too bad, thanks mate. How about you? Did you end up getting a new place? If so I'd love to see a pic or two.
My latest wacky idea is shaving without stropping. I hone a razor up and then try to get as long as I can out of it before rehoning. I'm currently up to about 6 days before it starts to pull too much. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except minimalist shavers, but if you like trying strange ideas there's much to be learned from it.Last edited by Frankenstein; 12-01-2010 at 03:27 PM.

I modified one of those aluminum poker chip cases to hold my blades. It does an excellent job.

Dovo also ships some of their razors in a snap-shut metal case. With a little padding, it would hold two razors pretty nicely.
