boxes
i'll soon start reselling restored (if needed, rescaled with wood) razors (mostly french and german 5/8's and 4/8's).
It should be 40-50 euros depending on the razor, with a small horse leather strop (i make strops from bulk leather pieces)
I nneded to find boxes for those without their original ones, here's what i bought from ebay : orginally made for "luxury" pens
To give scale, the razor is a 5/8. Don't ask me for it, this one will not be for sale
They are nice looking boxes, but i'll have to cut the foam inlay to razor dimensions, it'll be hard to get a clean result (alternatively, i just remove it and use another filler)

woah!! i think i just bought a bunch of those exact same cases off ebay for my own storage needs. razor looks really good with them, glad i made that purchase now!!
also, when i was looking at these, someone in chat said to fold the inlay in half and cut it at the folded bit, as a possible easy way of making the razor fit nicely. not sure if that inlay is foldable, however i am probably going to replace the inlay with foam in the bottom and a really thin foam insert to sit on top over the razor (same as dovo boxes).Last edited by wedwards; 12-17-2009 at 03:05 AM.

Thanked: 199Those cases are nice. What did you search for to find them? I wouldn't mind picking up a couple for my razors as well.

I reviewed everything that had size more or less similar to straight razors and could be sold with a presentation case.
So i searched watch, pen, cigar, necklace, (etc etc) boxes.
And then i sorted them on various criteria, size, color, prices, material...
Those i bought are pen boxes : apparently a british retailer who had too much of them.
There are many convienient boxes on ebay, i let you search
