I've had a few, including some of the nice leather dopp kits. But now, with all the travel restictions, charges for checked bags, and stricter weight lmits, I have pretty much settled on one of these simple L.L. Bean gear bags.

They are light, well thought out, functional and cheap. They are also soft and mold into whatever space you have in your bag, unlike stiffer leather. And besides, if you just have carry-on, you need the liquids in a ziploc bag anyway.

I know, it takes the "romance" out of having a beautiful traditional leather rollup, but if it is air travel you need the bag for, you need to be practical nowadays.

I was practically sold on the military-style roll-up but, seeing that Bugout, I'm now not so sure!

Thanks for hipping me to that, Squire!

What do people think of Bramble & Brown? Heard some good things about them but I haven't seen them around too much... just seen this B&B wash bag and thought it might do the job?

No affiliation other than as an EXTREMELY satisfied customer ( luggage set, L briefcase, weekend/overnight bag, backpack, and mouse pads ) !

Dave at Saddleback Leather is coming out with 2 different size bags that will be in the line of a Dopp kit on May 15. The main website is:

Saddleback Leather Co. : Leather Bags, Briefcases & Luggage for Men & Women

    Picture of an early prototype

Saddleback Leather Co.'s Photos - Upcoming things | Facebook

Kinda sorta in the "old-time' tradition of those of us choosing to wet-shave with straights or whatever, ALL of Dave's products are made WITHOUT the modern conveniences that tend to break.......zippers, snaps, etc.

Unless specified differently, all products are lined with pigskin and come with his 100-year warranty.

Will be ordering one of the new bags in chestnut as soon as they are available. Will match my other pieces, all in chestnut!

Just my $.02. Figured some of you might have interest in these wonderful products!

    Default Wet Pack

    Gentlemen:

I just came across the British military wet pack that Classic Shaving has started carrying.

Looks like I'm going to have to postpone my kit purchase...

    Mine's a dark coffee.

And I'll certainly back up that endorsement: in addition to superior quality goods, I'm in line with Saddleback philosophy and everything they stand for.

Although pricey I like the looks of these.

I have this one that I picked up at overstocked.com for $80 and I really like it. I can put a stop and all my straight shaving gear in it.
