Thanked: 12looking for inexpensive wooden shave bowl
So I have decided to give shaving soap a try. Currently I am using AOS cream. I was at AOS and noticed they sell a wooden container with soap for $40 which seems right in line with castle forbes setup. I did see a few wooden shave soap dishes on amazon. I am wondering has anybody tried any alternatives and if so did the standard refills work? I am looking to save a buck here....
Thanks
Luke

I have been wanting to turn a couple of bowls for my shave soaps as I don't like the standard plastic containers. When I do I'll just grate the soap then press it in. Unfortunately I lost my shop this spring and am working on a new setup for my lathe.

SCS and Mama Bears both sell wooden shave bowls. A few other vendors do as well, but I know those two places do.

I got an empty wood bowl off Eboy a couple years ago. It's made of solid teak wood and is very nice. It cleaned up nicely and looks good.

The wooden bowl that comes with the C&E soaps is a perfect fit.
