Sara's Lather Bowl
Ladies and gentlemen:
Do you use or have used Sara's Lather Bowl offered by one of my favorite vendors, Vintage Blades? As I understand, the bowl was designed by the site's owner and hand thrown by the renowned Canadian Sara Bonnyman, of the Moss Scuttle fame. The lather bowl intrigues me, but I know nothing about it. Perhaps you do. I would appreciate your thoughts on the bowl. Many thanks.

Obie

Yes I do Obie. Funny thing, Sara calls it the 'Ayers lather bowl' because Jim (vintage blades) designed it. Jim, being modest I guess, calls it Sara's lather bowl. I like it but I switched over to the SRD bowl. Their bowl has the same grooves to help you to keep from having to chase the dollop of cream around the bowl but they also improved the design. Their bowl has the edges curve slightly inward at the top. With Sara's bowl sometimes if you're not careful the lather goes over the top and down the side. Not an issue with the SRD bowl.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Sara's Lather Bowl
My dear Jimmy:
If anyone knew, I had a feeling you would. Thank you for the information. I have eyed that lather bowl for a while. I think I will check out SRD's bowl, as well. Not that I need another shave mug or lather bowl, but I should be ready in case the mood strikes.
Reminds me of the story about the Englishman and his umbrella. Many versions of that story exist. In the one I heard, when the Englishman is asked why he always carries an umbrella, he says, "Because you never know when it's going to rain."
Stay well, good sir.
Regards,
Obie

Obie, you're cracking me up! Be prepared!

Sara's Lather Bowl
My dear nun2sharp:
Yes, yes, one must always be prepared.
I have prepared all day today for several meetings with the bottle of cognac dearly beloved so graciously presented to me as a father's day gift.
Also, there is a hint in the air of either a single malt scotch or an SRD gift certificate from my gorgeous daughters.
Oh, this is a fine day.
Perhaps by day's end I will be the proud-owner-to-be of an SRD lather bowl, of which our good friend JimmyHAD informed me. Leave it to the noble Lynn Abrams to come up with something good.
In the meantime, if you will pardon me, I believe I will hold another meeting with Monsieur Cognac.
Regards,
Obie
