Mystery Lather Bowl
Hello, JimmyHAD:
Thanks for your note. I could very well be wrong, that it is Sara's lather bowl, but I don't think so. I have had Sara's lather bowl, which is beautifully made, but I find several differences in the two bowls.
As I mentioned in a previous post, Sara's bowl does not come in that color; rather, in blue, rust and cream, from what I know. This is a bowl in brown.
Also, this appears smaller, though I could be fooled by the size in the video. What's more, the sides on this bowl seem to slope more toward the narrowing bottom than do Sara's. No, I don't think it is the same lather bowl as Sara's.
On the other hand, you could be right and I wrong. This mystery is becoming worthy of Agatha Christie. There is a You Tube video of the same person, from what I can tell, also making lather for the Art of Shaving Products. I think he goes under the You Tube name of: sverrejoacim. I get lost trying to get around these computing machine thingies, You Tube, and all that. Perhaps one of our computer savvy members here can pursue this further. I'll end up blowing up the SRP site.
I would love to find out what the bowl is. From the video, it seems to be exactly the type of lather bowl for which I have searched for quite sometime.
Stay well, Jimmy.
Regards,
Obie

Mystery Lather Bowl
Hello, Bladerunner and deighaingeal:
Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen. Yes, it is a lovely bowl and I would love to have it.
In my reply to my friend JimmyHAD's post, I give the You Tube name of the person seen making lather in the video. He goes by the name: sverrejoacim. At least that's what it looks like. Perhaps one of the computer magicians among our members can pursue this mystery. I get lost with these computing machine thingies.
Stay well.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 10I think the best bet may be going to the You tube site and find the video, then post a question in the comments portion. You may get a direct answer that way. Just thinkin'

MamaBear video
Hi Obie,
You know...Kevin is right. Moreover, I found the same video on the MamaBear Soap website (Sue is the proprietor). If anyone should know, it's Sue. Maybe a quick email to her will clear this mystery up
Just a thought.Last edited by BladeRunner001; 07-09-2010 at 01:40 PM.

Mystery Lather Bowl
Hello, Robert:
Thanks for your note. Yes, it is the same video. That's where I first saw the bowl. I checked with my friend Sue Clark. She said the video was made in Europe as a promotional piece for Mama Bear; however, that's the only information she could provide, and nothing on the lather bowl.

Obie

I see...Sorry, that's all I know on this ...seems like Sue is too. But, I am surprised she didn't know more details about the promotional video (like who made it and how to get in touch with them or something)
Let's see what else comes out of this post...I'd be curious too. It does look a lot like Sara's bowl's though. But, what do I know...You, Ray and Jimmy have looked longer (and harder) at these that me

Mystery Lather Bowl
Hello, kevbell:
Thank you for your note. I tried posting a question on the specific You Tube site, but it called for subscribing to this and to that and Lord knows what else — and I fell off the cliff.
Computers confuse me. Pish! When I bought my computer some years ago, in the first six months I lost several short stories in the thing, and almost a novel. Computers and I don't get along, except for e-mail and uncomplicated Internet research. Half the time I fear I'll blow up the Straight Razor Place site.
Well, what can I say? Man was meant to use fountain pens.

Obie
