Obie, the question asking about the bowl on the Youtube video is indeed unanswered, but it was asked 4 months ago, not 2 years ago (although 4 months is still a bit long). Here are his other two videos in which you can get more views of the bowl:

    Demonstrasjon The Gentlemens Refinerys barberprodukter

Truefitt & Hill -- Den skånsomme før, midt under og etterpå

    Hello, bknesal:

Thank you for following through. Looking at the second video, the Truefitt & Hill demonstration, I can see the bowl looks more blue. Our good friend JimmyHAD, that wise gentleman of SRP, hit it right on the nose with his initial deduction. Yes, this is the Sara (Ayars) lather bowl.

Thanks to all for following this mystery. We have the answer.

The person who makes these videos, by the way, has a great shtick going for himself. This has to be one of the better gigs going around the wet shaving world.

    Regards,
    Obie

    Hello, Ray:

Forgive me, but I failed to give you credit as well for your initial deduction on the origin of the Mystery Lather Bowl. Well done, good sir, and thank you.

    Regards,

    My dear Ray:

Yes, you and Jimmy are the great detective team. Good work.

By the way, I wrote Sara today to see if a tiny bit smaller version of the lather bowl is available. I'll keep everyone apprised.

    Say well.

    Regards,
    Obie

I'm afraid I got in on this forum to late to help but I must admit it was a great read and a great ending to the mystery.

Hopefully she can make you a lather bowl just the way you like Obie. And hopefully we get to see some amazing pictures of it too!

Smile Mind if I suggest ?

Hey guys. If you go to the Straight Razor designs webpage and look in the mugs and bowl section, you will see the pottery shaving bowls and apothicary mugs. They have pretty close to the same groove design in the bottom of said shaving bowl in the video. Plus they are real nice looking and come in nice patterns. Just thought I'de try n help. Have a nice shave ....Also.....watchin all that rich lather sure makes me wish for a two day shadow and some sharp steel....

I know the mystery has already been solved, but I just received a reply from the uploader on Youtube. Here is the reply:

    Hi there,

    It's available here:
    Sara Bonnyman Pottery: Moss Scuttle

As you can see, this is the link to Sara's site, confirming what we already decided upon.

The best part for you, Obie, is that (since what mesmerized you was the thought that it was more brown) you can do special/custom orders. So if you really wanted to, you could ask that she make the waterfall model but a little more brown.

    My dear Brent:

You are a wizard, sir. Your inquiry and subsequent response from the lather artist put the stamp of confirmation on this mystery. Thanks to you, JimmyHAD, RayG and the other sleuths for playing in this movie. It was fun.

I got in touch with Sara, asking for the Ayars lather bowl in a slightly smaller size so that my small hands could manage it. She said she would be delighted to make one for me, and asked for the measurements I wanted. I sent her some measurements and now am waiting to hear from her.

Yes, if I can have it in more brown-barley color tones, it would be ideal. It's a lovely bowl, thanks to the original design by Jim Ayars and the artistic work by Sara.

The Ayars lather bowl in addition to my SRD lather bowl will make life just lovely. I like SRD's quite a bit, too. It's beautifully made.

There is something to be said for beauty.

    Stay well, my good friend.

    Regards,
    Obie

    Stay classy,
