    Default Scuttle under Construction

I just started to make my first stoneware scuttle. I thought I would post a few pics along the way. I would certainly appreciate any feedback and/or suggestions! At this point its still "clay". I just threw it yesterday so its at the drying stage. In a week it will get its first firing in the kiln ("bisque firing") then the glaze goes on and it gets fired again. Aside from deciding what colour to glaze it I need to decide whether to leave the insert loose so it can be removed or whether to tuse it so the whole thing is one piece. What are your thoughts? Also, what do you think of the general design/aesthetics/functionality? I was going for an "old school shaving mug" feel.
