Thanked: 13245I have had a beard for 29 1/2 years the same time I have been straight shaving. was taught "Want straight lines use a straight edge"
Now to keep it trimmed for the first 28 1/2 years I used a Wahl, it finally wore out last year, I probably could have just re-wired the cord but I decided to replace it with the same model...

I always get rough spots in my beard after I trim it. They bother me, I pull at them, get sore spots and then shave it all off. Then, start over.

I have used a wahl for years(20?), and it still works. Its a "consumer grade" as opposed to a professional model, but i am only trimming a goatee and sideburns so it doesn't get a real hard workout.
If and when it dies I will go to my local barber supply place and buy a pro grade model.
Things to think about/look for... My wahl uses combs and cutters that can be purchased when they wear out/break/get lost etc.
