    Default Old shaving mug help!!

    so i have this really cool old shaving mug i got from an antique store a few months ago.. its really cool but i cant get a nice warm lather from it.. i know i have to put hot water in it but my lather still cools off after my first pass..anybody know how to fix this? thanks!

    It's probably not as old as you think.

    A Scuttle like that will never keep lather warm very long because the heat quickly dissipates from the large opening and you have the entire soap block in there which doesn't help. Alot of those type scuttles were sold in the 1980s and 70s with a brush as an inexpensive set. I've always thought of them more of display pieces than actual working scuttles. I have one similar.

    thanks alot! i dont really use it much..i have another mug i use to lather cream with..soo i guess this will be a show piece for now!
