I have a glass bowl that my sister made in a glass blowing class. It is pretty neat and I'll have to post a picture, somehow it keeps the lather in the mug perfectly!

Anyway, while I am in the shower I fill my sink with the hottest water from the tap and submerge the bowl in it, this warms the glass itself. After my shower I strop my razor and run more hot water over the bowl. Then I make my lather in the bowl, and I just float the bowl in hot water in the sink!

It works for me and was all of free!

I Probably shouldn't admit this publicly, but my favorite place to get soap bowls is the thrift store, sugar bowls are usually just the ticket, especially if you get one in silver plate!
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
