Thanked: 41Re: Razor stand
I can't remember where I got them, but earlier this yeah I found some of the standard razor stands online. It wasn't one of the regular shaving sites and the prices were a lot lower. I want to say under $10 a piece. Maybe less. I ordered 10 and the total wasn't unreasonable at all.
I will try to find the site again.

To get this thread back on track, I have one of the razor stands from Pixelfixed. I enjoy its looks and feel that it provides a quality that my meager selection of 'bay finds and junk shop deals do not really convey. The workmanship is great and the price was very reasonable!

Here's mine. Cost £6 from Ikea in England. Stainless steel and holds 4 razors.
Is actually a toothbrush holder but it will never be used for that !

The white of the scales and the stand are hard for me to tell apart in the first picture. If I see this right the stand comes up through the scales and you are relying on the pivot pin to hold things apart. I would think that a piece of felt on the top of the center portion for example would stop the inadvertent closing of the blade. Maybe a "leg" to stand proud and hold the tang?

Thanked: 270I use smoking pipe holders. There are always some on ebay: smoking pipe holder | eBay
If you have straight razors, you have to make sure the opening is wide enough to fit the razors. You can also use it for DE razors. If the smoking pipe stand has a humidor, you can store soap, blades, or whatever there.
Mastershake made a one razor/brush stand with my alma mater's logo on it:
I live in a humid climate, so I don't keep my razors in the bathroom. Personally, I keep them in a room adjacent to the bathroom.

For all of you that have a few well loved razors.
Here is a cheap and simple re-purposing of a pipe rack / humidor to showcase and ventilate your rotations. The cost of these old humidors will be a lot lower than you would pay for a case to hold your prizes. I paid $7 for this classic which holds 10 in the holes and a bunch in the glass!
There are many styles that have been made over the last few hundred years. Put out the word to your bargain hunting friends to look for one for you.
Have fun hunting!
