Default My first Straights have a proper home...

First, I must say that my wife ROCKS !! She's been cool throughout my wet shaving journey, from DE's, to SE's, and now straights. She's even joined in on the fun by having me find a DE for her which she now uses exclusively. Tonight she just finished making me this roll so my first straights will have a good home!

I know it's not real fancy (there are some incredible craftsman on this site making some awesome looking homes for their razors!). It cost me all of $2.60 for the cotton flannel and an hour or so of my wife's time (priceless...). It's getting me off to a great start on a tight budget.

For now, it houses my two starter razors I got here on the SRP Classifieds (much thanks to Smythe (Cedric) and stimpy52 (Frank) for the shave ready razors...).

One of the fine things about it is that there are 5 more empty slots just waiting for razors! In due time, they will be filled. For now, I'm getting great shaves for having just started out, and I'm having a blast with the learning process and creating a successful routine! For the second time in my life, shaving is cool! (the first time was when I was a kid and couldn't wait to grow enough whiskers for my first shave--it went quickly downhill from there--until now, that is ).

Thanks to all the members here at SRP for helping me to a great start! I'm learning a lot directly and indirectly from all of you. Y'all ROCK as well!

I like it! Very nice work and very easy to do. I think I might have to check into something like that.

    Thumbs up

Lucky you. Your wife did a beautiful job. Some of the advantages of your flannel roll are that it is soft and won't scratch the razors, it won't outgas fumes like some leather rolls, and it won't trap moisture. A cloth razor roll makes a lot of sense.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Happy Shaving!

    That looks great!!
Five more slots; that should take under 2 months to fill.
