I'm looking for a scuttle/shaving bowl
I'm looking for a shaving bowl and here are the characteristics I want:
hand sized/bowl shaped
Lip that keeps the lather in
cross hatch/swirl on the bottom inside
and here's the hard one: I want the brush handle to not hit the lip of the bowl, so it has to be shallow. idealy the just deep enough to hold the whole bistle end of the brush.
I have bowls and scuttles, but none have all of these features.
Any ideas?

You can get a very large one from Dirty Bird. I don't know if she makes them anymore, but this one hold everything but the kitchen sink. You can get your entire hand and the brush in the bowl without hitting the edge.
You can see the webbing and in the large scuttle. Both are from Dirty Bird.

I think you've really only have two real choices here. 1st as mentioned is Dirty Bird Pottery's DB 1.5, the other is Georgetown Pottery's G5
Going to come down to budget, acceptable dimenstions, color preference, etc...I own both, use both and think they are both great products.

The Dirtybird is awesome and Julie is wonderful. If you send her your requests, she will take care of you. I've ordered the Dirtybird 1.5 and a Billbowl, as well as her new Travel Scuttle. She took care me. I asked for dribble ports, special colors, and her original lathering pattern. My requests were met with a return e-mail saying, Sure, no problem!" I have no doubt she will take care of you. She's great!
