    Default Old Sterilizer Cabinets? (show yours!!!)

    Hey yall,

    I got an old sterilizer cabinet over the weekend (DIRT CHEAP) I thought it would be cool to put my razors in.. thing is.. I don't know how this thing could sterilizer anything.. lol its just a wood box! any back story would be appreciated!

    nice box i thought the old sterilizer boxed had a strong UV light in them.

    Am thinking just the glass and fittings were scavanged and a wood box was made as all I have ever seen were metal.

    Back in the day barbers used to sterilize their impliments using formaldahyde. A dish of water would be placed in the bottom of the cabinet, formalin tablets would be dissolved in it, and the resulting formaldahyde gas would kill any pathogens. This practice is now illegal, due to it being a known carcinogen. Hope this helps, and that's a cool find, congrats.
