Thanked: 50Another Ebay Sample Box
While looking for a couple of inexpensive learning razors on Ebay, I came across a lot of 5 with this case included. They all cleaned up nicer than I expected and four of them went off to a homemeister (Thank you, Lynn). I was wondering about the case because it's 5x5 slots and they seem just a tad small for straight razors. Notice in the picture that there are a couple of razors sticking out of slots. There is about 2 1/2 inches of clearance between the top of the box (with is velour lined) and the top of the razor handles. It makes me wonder if this is really a sample case for razors or if there was some kind of additional box that would have used this space.
Anybody?

Thanked: 480Dont quote me, but I believe they were also (or instead) used for holding scissors. Longer, slimmer... maybe?

I have one similar to that one except the lid is one piece and hinged, the slots are a perfect fit for striaghts. Found it at an antique store years ago and full of straights. Brand sticker on the inside of the lid is "Ballaro" Tool Chest. Made of Oak.

I have a hard time telling razor from Knife Boxes. I kind of think that most started in the dinning room and then moved to the bath!?
