Can anyone help me identify this shaving mug?
I received this mug/scuttle and brush from a patient a few weeks ago. The brush has been beautifully restored and it's real "looker." I know it may be correct, but I had it re-knotted with Silver Tip badger and is just a "fun" brush to use.
My question is about the mug/scuttle. The person that gave it to me doesn't know any history about it. They bought it at a antique shop in North Carolina. It was under lock and key. The shop owner's didn't know any history either. I was hoping that someone on the forum might know something about it. Manufacturer, approximate age, origin, etc. I've posted some pictures, I know they're not great, but it was the best I could do with my Iphone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The mug has drain three holes on the bottom and has a "drain hole" at the base to allow for fluid to drain from the interior (you can see the three bottom holes and the drain hole in the pictures -- the drain hole can be seen if you look carefully at the first and forth pictures. Looking at the design, it would make sense that it would have come with sort of matching "saucer or cup," but that is purely speculation on my part.

It a pleasant design. If anything it would be nice to keep your glasses in when you take them off to shave.

I agree looks like a toothbrush holder. I had one that looked similar, but this wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.
