Default Another Cheap Shaving Mug Idea

    Howdy,

I went to the Dollar Tree Store (everything for a dollar) the other day and found a plastic soup thermos. I was able to easily squish to Arko shave sticks into the bottom. Before my shave I can fill the thermos with hot tap water, put my brush in the water and let both sit until I'm ready to use them. I like to add a drop of Corn Huskers lotion to the water. When ready pour out the water shake out the brush, and work up a lather. Since the theromos is as deep if not a little deeper than a mug, I can work up a very good lather. Since the container is made of plastic, no loud sounds of a brush hitting the sides of the container. When I'm done I just wash it out a little, and then put the lid back on. Don't have to worry about it breaking if it falls on the floor.
    All this for just $1.00

The fun part about this hobby is experimenting with different things to see what works for you or a particular situation. As a general rule the least expensive things seem to work the best, at least it does for me.

I think you just came up with the most brilliant idea to do a job, and to do it in an economical and efficient manner.

    Lightbulb My cheap shave cup

I was in IKEA at the weekend and intended to find a cheap soup mug or similar for my shave foam.

In the bathroom department I found this:

It is a two-piece. I am using the larger one and put the smaller one by my wife's sink for rings etc.

First use today and for me, it's a keeper, much better than the lid of the shave cream I was using before!

    Good idea!

Yes you could as the small one fits inside the larger one. I just plunged the large one in hot water.

The smaller one might be a bit too small for lather but it's a matter of preference.

Here are mine so you can see the scale. The razor is a Merkur 34c in a Markur case.

Hey, I can use the small one to hold my glycerin soap bar; I'm currently using a regular tea plate. I'll head to my local IKEA tomorrow. Thanks for the post and idea.

Also, did you consider the following bowl? It is less expensive.

I'm thinking this could be *very* handy for travel too. Nice one!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
