Thanked: 0Can someone help me identify this Shaving Kit?
Hi, I bought this at a yard sale. The lady who sold it to me said that it was given to her ex-husbands grandfather before he left for WWI. It contains an unopened container of Yardley Shaving soap and two Joseph Allen razors (among other things). I am trying to figure out the brand name of the kit. I know it was made is London.

There were a lot of those kinds of kits made back in the day...unless its printed on there somewhere, it will be pretty hard (if not impossible) to find out...but it's an amazing score!

Very nice. It's too bad they don't still make them like that.

Thanked: 0I knew it was something cool when I saw it. Is it worth any money? Don't think I want to sell it but it would be good to know.

Value is never discussed here. Perhaps search the web for sales or completed auctions for the same or similar items.
I would love to see more photos of the items in there. I would also love to learn more about it!

Welcome to SRP. We don't do appraisals here because it is a matter of opinion. Check ebay for that type of thing and see if you can find a similar set in completed items. If you want to take those Joseph Allen straights, a well respected Sheffield maker, and put them back into service we'll be happy to advise you.

Re: Can someone help me identify this Shaving Kit?
As has been said a quick search of eBay for WWI shaving kits will hive you a good idea of the valuation.
Otherwise it's cool as heck. If it was mine I'd clean it up and put it back in service. It's too neat to put it back in service. The ones I've seen like it around here at antique shops and yard sales haven't been as complete or in as good of shape.

Thanks for posting. I, as well as others, I think would love to see close up pics of the individual pieces especially the two Joseph Allen razors.
