What to use as Beard trimmer
Hey not sure if there is anything suggested for keeping my goatee trimmed nice that isn't scissors, they don't work well, I have an electric trimmer that works fine but curious if there are any SR options to look into in the future as well.
Thanks!

What to use as Beard trimmer
I've thought about this too. My guess would be scissors or a beard trimmer. Unless your SR is wicked sharp and you have an extremely steady hand

I have seen some razor combs not sure how well they work or how close they get. I also don't know if there was a simple way to have a real SR with a comb attachment or if it would be DE.

I've always just used my straight razor for trimming my goatee, freehand (no comb or the like). Works fine for me.
It does need to be sharp, but tbh I wouldn't want to venture a shave with a razor that won't cut hair
I'd say that would call for a proper honing.

Thanked: 375I just use my straight or DE to keep mine evened up. Although I have seen this goatee template thingy to keep thing's shaped up called the Goatee saver.....have no idea if it's worth it, but it certainly looks funny

Thanked: 1195I had a Remington beard trimmer that I absolutely loved (and would highly recommend that brand) until I somehow lost the charger
. My wife bought me another make/model, but it's crap. It's a good thing she doesn't read my posts....

I dont keep a beard or goatee but I find that my dad's old pair of Oster Manual barber clippers work really well on my sideburns.
It kinda feels right using something that old that works so well too!
YMMV
