1902 Shaving gear from Sears, Roebuck & Co. Catalog
Submitted for the enjoyment of the esteemed members of this group. I scanned the pages from a 1969 facsimile of the 1902 Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog. It is almost 1,200 pages. Yes, you can all roll your eyes with envy. It is a spectacular catalog. I am glad to have it even if it is a facsimile. Full of everything. Literally! While we smile at the $1.50-2.00 razors I will add that a full size modern men's bicycle cost $10. Anyone interested in a Barber's Special Belgian Hone, 5x2 1/2 inches for $1.75? Or a Shaving cabinet, complete with a guaranteed razor and stuff for $4.00? Hurry up, maybe they still have some in stock! I tried sears.com but couldn't find anything
Clicking on the thumb nails will (should) take you to large high resolution jpg images that can be magnified etc. Let me know if it doesn't work. PM me if you would like me to email you a nice high resolution scan for your own collection. I did correct the pages from severe yellowing.

Nice one - thanks for sharing it
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Thanked: 270I'd like to know the last year you could get a straight razor from a Sears catalog, a drug store, etc.
