The Talcum Powder Kid
Anyone else finish a nice shave with a dusting of talcum powder? I think it must be a very early scent memory of getting a nice dry baby diaper change. My mother did not have all those creams and ointments. It was a real cloth diaper and a dusting of talc. It is my favorite part of a haircut too. Getting the itchy hair off and cool powder applied with a brush. Freud would have a field day with me!
What is your favorite talc, if it is part of your shower and shave? You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane.

Guilty! I often finish my shaving routine with a dusting of Clubman powder. I love the barbershop smell and the feeling of absolute clean that it gives--plus, it makes my skin feel refreshed and soft.

Caswell-Massey for me Number 6, Lavender or Jockey Club are my favorites but Pinaud works great as well and in a pinch baby podwer... but that is often pure cornstarch or a cornstarch/talc blend and to me not as nice and the normal talcum powders.
talcum after a shave or a hair cut is nice, on the face i like to use it after witch hazel or AS. normally i tend to use them as general body powders, man i feel old now.
enjoy,

I have fond memories as a kid going to the barbershop and after getting a haircut the barber pulling out his horsehair brush and producing this big cloud of talcum powder to dust my neck. Now they know if you breath this stuff it's bad for you. Mostly they use cornstarch these days. if you do use real talc go easy on it.
