So this was my first attempt I would value any suggestions to improve.

I think it's wonderful. Even if I did have to pick up my screen and turn it on it's side.

I'd be very interested to hear what material you've used to line the inside.

well its oak, I am no carpenter so a buddy helped me out,
i used a soft brown felt,
and brass hardware everything but the felt was purchased at home depot and the felt came from an arts and crafts store..

Suggestions to improve? I can't think of any cause its looks great just the way it is.

It is a nice looking box.
At first glance I thought it was mounted on the wall, then I saw the water bottle.

It looks fantastic,you asked. so you have rounded corners and 90 deg brass fittings,minor stuff,but thats me

Fitment would be better with Sq, corners IMO
