Default New shaving stuf! As gift

I got a razor, brush and mug. I am new to wet shaving about 2 months and this is my first straight! I'm not sure what the deal is with this mug though Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365348205.327329.jpg

I don't get what the two chambers are for as the one with holes is really small and the deep one is real small at the top so not ideal for making lather. What do y'all think it is for?
And the razor will need to be honed who do y'all recommend for that as well, looking for quick turnaround time. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365348349.971929.jpg

nice looking razor, to get it honed anyone in the classifieds section under member services will do a fine job on that blade.

Hot water in the big chamber and you can pre-soak your brush in it.
After you whip up your lather you rest the brush head across the other to help keep it warm or so the theroy goes.
