Default Are there any woodworkers out there?

I have been trying to figure a good way to store my razors for travel and I have an idea but not the skill to bring it to life. I would like to have a wooden coffin for two razors, side by side, with a leather paddle strop on top and a latch to hold it shut. I think a 10inch strop would be plenty for travel. What do you guys think? Just a thought of mine. I may start a new project this weekend. Lets se that will be number 9237 on the project list, lol!

Yeah that works very well I did one years back that would hold two razors a Barber's Hone and had the strop on top, I went 12Lx2Wx1H inches... I stole the idea from a vintage one I saw..

The weakness in the design I had was keeping everything inside from moving around, I made little dividers of wood... it worked OK I always wanted to find Brass spring clips to go on the inside...

It never worked as good as I wanted so I never really persued it farther, basically too much work for too little gain

I would also like to see the travel box. Just to see if it fits my image in my head.

When you said wooden coffin only one thing came to mind....cigars. You might check out the local cigar shop for empty cigar boxes that might be your answer.
