Hello Andrew. Yes the hybrid stock is great to work with and produces some fine looking pieces. The guy I bought this from was seasonal and as I just looked to his site he has decided to close up shop!!!!! Man oh man! He produced some fine hybrid turn stock too! Sorry buddy but he is who I bought from solely.

Thanked: 2284No worries. He did a fantastic job on them. I can see the resin in the tiniest of gaps which means he was able to get it driven deep into everything. I was nervous that the burl wasn't going to be that "burly" but the caps he used are also very nice. Looks like a brown mallee burl cap if I had to guess. Anxious to get one on the lathe. Probably finish them with Shella wax EEE and then the cream.

Yes! I used a wet micro mesh progression from 1500 grit through 12k for a wet almost mirror look then I used Nova polish on the alumilite then a polish for the wood that was friction based for a high gloss. Made some impressive pieces but for some reason no one ever bought the pieces! Guess I did not have a big enough name out there for people to take a chance. Oh well, I just absorbed them into my private stock for using.
