Damascus hunting knife w giraffe bone handle
This knife has fulfilled its purpose of being something to take along to the Gembloux knife show. It will be some time before I need a showpiece again so I am selling it to pay for the materials for the next show piece, (which I bought yesterday)
The handle is stabilized Giraffe bone. The guard is solid brass. The blade itself is 1095 and 15N20 Damascus, made fully by hand.
Since I have no experience in the fixed blade market I have no idea what to price it. And this is not really a fixed handle forum so I am going to sell it auction style. The opening bid is 300 USD and includes shipping. At that price I will have my materials and consumables paid for.
I don't want to run a lengthy auction so the highest bid before tomorrow evening 9PM pacific central time has it.

Bruno, how did you get that guard to look as though it's made from bone also?

Not entirely sure what you mean. The guard is about 1/4 thick, and solid brass. the shimmering on it is the reflection of my ceiling, I think
The little bit between the fingers are and the guard IS giraffe bone. it is part of the handle, and meant for a strap or something else to keep the blade in place.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

The reason I only chose a single day to auction off this blade is I just want it to go to pay for the materials, without dragging it on for a while in the hopes to raise the price. If someone wants it, it is gone and that is that. As a commissioned piece it would cost about 2 times the opening bid.
