I used to have a blog about photography. Thankfully, it's still viewable, and can be found here. The blog was 'mothballed' due to lack of funds for the film side, and lack of subject matter in general.

    Things haven't improved much. :/

I just saw this thread. I'm I guess you'd call it semi-pro. I have a full-time career but I also shoot on the side. I love it!

Looks like all 3 of us have wordpress powered sites! Would anyone be intested in starting something casual like a 'post a pic and critique' thread where you post a pic but give your honest opinion about the shot above (the idea is if you comment, you have to show your own work too)?

Deegee, I read you have a leica! Vey nice! The closest I have to such a beautiful camera is a FED 5B. Speaking of film, you should look into Caffenol-C. I develop in it, mainly because of, my low budget but it's very cheap and a superb developer! Google it!

Foxhill, You've got a lot on your site, a wird thing however is how, on my Samsung Galaxy tablet, it squished your images down so eveyone looks like they were shot in a 'fun house'. Does your site/theme have options for responsiveness? Might need a tweak there.

I'm a lot like foxhill. I shoot commercially for my 'day job' employer but also do work on the side when it comes around, although without me doing any active marketing at all, that means I rarely get jobs. Check mine out if your feeling a bit queezy and in need of a chuck but don't want to stick your fingers down your throat! Nick Bryant Photography | Bringing you purposeful pixels

My day-job isn't photography, unfortunately, and I don't want to quit that because I'll lose m pension and benefits. I'm using the Kingsize theme so I might need to update it. Thanks for the heads-up on the bug. I didn't really shoot all that stuff in a fun-house. HONEST!!

    Sounds a good idea.

It's the fixer that's giving me the headache at the moment, along with acquiring the measuring cylinders etc. Funds are tight at the moment.

The Leicas are my pride and joy. When I spent a week on holiday, with my left arm in plaster, the Leica Standard was perfect - with the 3.5cm lens focussed at 15m, set at f/11, and using the "Sunny 11" rule, I don't recall one photo being badly exposed.

Sounds like an interesting way to spend a holiday!

After all the reading I've done on fixer, the UK would be the cheapest place to buy it I would've thought? For me it was the dev tank that cost a fortune, I got mine from the UK actually! Cracked and battered but a little superglue and it's seen through probably a dozen rolls now.

I use Caffenol-C to develop, and usually pull 2 stops (as i bagged a ton of fuji 400 for cheap) then Ilford (UK company ) Rapid fixer in a 1L concentrate. I'm doing 5-1 (1prt fixer, 4 prts water) and it gets through about 15 rolls per batch. That bottle was about $18 from an overpriced brick and mortar photography store here in Aus.
